UX&UI redesign of a premium air purifier with a focus on Digital First Interaction
A Premium Air purifier had inconsistent UI across the product and the app. As a team of 5, we have created a seamless and reassuring experience.
ROLE
PROBLEM
Users struggled with confusing navigation and product setup, especially establishing Wi-Fi connections and interpreting icons, undermining the product's trustworthiness.
RESULTS
23,4% increase in system usability score
100% of tested users were certain in interpreting air quality display
Participants quote: “The screen is clear,I really love that you can visualise how the air is congested and what it is purifying, it makes you more sure.."
Understanding the Pain Points
User interviews and cognitive walkthroughs made it clear that the inconsistency between interactive and non-interactive UI elements prevented users from streamlining product setup, and navigation was overly complicated.

Redesigning with Intent: Gliding through the interface
First we have focused on minimizing the user's need to interact with the purifier itself, featuring a simplified drop-down menu on the purifier. User gets Insight into the air quality at first glance.

In Conclusion
With our redesign, we have achieved greater consistency across the product and app interfaces. We introduced data-driven suggestions to help users improve air quality. The user will receive notifications about potential hazardous accidents, blooming seasons, and other allergens in their area, prompting them to either open or close the windows, wear protective clothing outside, etc. We focused on minimising interaction with a product, making the experience more personalised and intuitive.
